Anyone can obtain an Alabama Birth Certificate, 125 years or later from the date of the birth for genealogy or other reasons.

Options Option 1 – Order Alabama Birth Certificate Online

Option 3 – In Person

In Person in Alabama: You may go to any county health department in the State of Alabama to obtain a certified copy of an Alabama birth certificate. Most Alabama birth certificates can be issued while you wait.

 
Alabama Birth Certificate Ordering Cost

 

The fee to search for an Alabama birth certificate is $15.00, which includes one certified copy of the Alabama birth certificate or a "Certificate of Failure to Find." For each additional copy of the Alabama birth certificate ordered at the same time, the fee is $6.00. Checks or Money Orders should be made payable to "Alabama Vital Records."
